Plan Hamilton is the City’s comprehensive plan to guide the development of the city for the next ten years. Plan Hamilton is Hamilton’s web-based comprehensive plan. This web-based approach allows for the City to quickly integrate new planning policies and revised area plans into the official Plan Hamilton. The Plan Hamilton website highlights Hamilton’s Future Land Use Map and Mobility Map, along with other community plans such as the River Master Plan and Hamilton’s Active Transportation Plan. This, along with the new Plan Hamilton videos, are best viewed on the Plan Hamilton website (www.planhamilton.com).
With the recent public engagement processes involved in updating Plan Hamilton, the City has decided to update the website’s “The Process” subpage.
Approved in early 2019, this plan is periodically updated based on input from residents and businesses to determine the best course of action for the community. Recognizing the changing needs of the community and the importance of appropriate priorities, the City seeks to address these community priorities through the updated 2024 Plan Hamilton.
Planning staff partnered with Neighborhoods staff to launch the 2024 Plan Hamilton update in August 2023. After a seven-month process, Planning staff is ready to proposed the first major update to Plan Hamilton since 2019.
