Tobacco Retail Establishments, Zoning Text Amendment - (Public Hearing)

Rescheduled from the March 17, 2022 Planning Commission

A public hearing will be held before The City of Hamilton Planning Commission, meeting as a Committee of the Whole, on Thursday, April 7, 2022: 1:30 P.M., in the Council Chambers located at 345 High Street, First Floor, One Renaissance Center, Municipal Building on amending the Hamilton Zoning Ordinance No. 7503:

APPLICANT:     City of Hamilton

REQUEST:        Changes to the Hamilton Zoning Ordinance Related to Tobacco Retail Establishments:

New tobacco retailers that meet the definition of “Tobacco Retail Establishment” would be required to go through a Conditional Use or Specific Use process per Section 1300 of the Zoning Ordinance.  New tobacco retailers would need to have a public hearing review and approval by both the Planning Commission and City Council. 

 

The following sections of the Zoning Ordinance are proposed for amendment:

·         Section 1250, Zoning Land Use Chart

·         Section 1300, Conditional Uses

·         Section 3900, Glossary
