Goal: To honor employees who further our vision to become a city of authentic and active neighborhoods and people. Employees who exemplify organizational values and excel in providing effective and valued services that improve the quality of life in Hamilton. Employees who are trailblazers, courageous, and champions in their fight to make the City of Hamilton a great destination for all!
Who: Any employee of the City of Hamilton is eligible to be nominated for a Public Service Award. Employees shall be nominated by their co-workers (co-worker means any City employee).
What: Employees can win one of six (6) Public Service Awards: The Passion for Hamilton Award, The Own the Outcome Award, The Respect Award, The Sense of Urgency Award, The Innovation and The Inclusion Award – each given for one of the City’s values
Where: Nomination forms can be submitted to cspersonnel@hamilton-oh.gov.
When: TBA
How: To nominate a co-worker, an employee must complete the nomination form for one (1) award per employee and email the document to cspersonnel@hamilton-oh.gov.
Please be specific about why are nominating the employee! Give multiple examples, give more than one sentence, and tell the story of why the employee is deserving of this award! The nominating committee is reading this, prove your case!
If you wish to nominate several employees, use a separate form for each one. If you wish to nominate one employee for several awards, use a separate form for each award nomination.
Award
Passion for Hamilton Award: Given to an employee who displays a strong passion and commitment to the community, its people, institutions, and enterprises.
Own the Outcome Award: Given to an employee who doesn’t just focus on the tasks but the outcome. An employee who displays flexibility in adapting our processes to help the City achieve its vision and goals.
Respect Award: Given to an employee who displays outstanding respect and empathy towards our co-workers and customers as well as values diversity and is committed to an inclusive culture.
Sense of Urgency Award: Given to an employee who displays a consistent bias for action, moves swiftly and thoughtfully and shows our customers what dedication looks like by exceeding expectations daily in our delivery of quality services.
Innovation Award: Given to an employee who consistently identifies opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of our daily work.
Inclusion Award: An employee who respects and recognizes the value of views and opinions of others, even when different from their own. This employee often brings a unique perspective to the table, respects others, and strives to make the workplace a welcoming environment. Their unique perspective and commitment to inclusion make the City of Hamilton stronger.
