Recent Improvements
Recently completed transportation improvements in the City of Hamilton include:
Construction of the South Hamilton Crossing (SHX) Jim Blount Overpass (completed in 2018) to provide an overpass across four busy CSX railroad tracks to improve connectivity, reduce travel times, increase safety, and provide improved access to Miami University Hamilton Campus, Vora Technology Park, and 60+acres of vacant land;
Completion of several projects on Main and High streets to make needed repairs, improve capacity, remove overhead utilities, replace old water mains, and improve streetscapes;
Reconfiguration of Rhea Avenue and North B Street to support better traffic flow to and from the Spooky Nook Champion Mill Sports complex;
Implementation of vehicle and pedestrian safety improvements along the Main Street corridor;
Reconfiguration of the intersections of Cereal, Haldimand, Western, and McKinley SR 129/Main St. to improve traffic flow;
Installation of smart traffic signals to automatically adjust to changes in traffic flow (to be completed in 2021 and 2022).
